Blog on what I consider the 2 most important Rs; reading and writing. These are my adventures, and opinions, on the world of contemporary romance and new adult fiction, both as a reader and a writer.

Books of 2016.
Anyway, here's my list of my top 20 favourite books this year, in no particular order.
Bae by Cambria Hebert.
Hashtag is one of my favourite series and to get a long awaited follow up was so exciting! And it did not disappoint. Bae was emotional and beautiful, like all of Cambria's writing.
Unexpected Reality by Kaylee Ryan.
The cover of this book is beautiful and the story inside matches. There's nothing hotter than a hot man with a baby and Unexpected Reality didn't disappoint.
Play Hard by LP Maxa.
Luke's long awaited sorry. I love how Alexa was included in this and so much was explained. I was worried that Luke's attachment to her might be too much to overcome but it wasn't and I can't wait for the conclusion to this series.
Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan.
Book after book she churns out amazing stories and this is no different. I love Caden and Summer and the premise of this book!
Stealing Home by Nicole Williams.
Luke stole my heart in this book. He's incredible. I'd never read one of Nicole Williams's books but this wowed me!
The Royal series by Erin Watt.
These books put me in the BIGGEST book hangover ever! They were incredible! Reed was fantastic, Ella had balls and Easton was hilarious. I still think there's more to Ella and Reed's story but I'll take what I can get, starting with Easton's book.
Breaking the Cycle by Megan Lowe.
Had to be in there! This book changed my life and I'm glad people see, to like it!
The Hard Count by Ginger Scott.
Ginger is the author of one my favourite series, Waiting on the Sidelines. The Hard Count is just as incredible. Nico is beautiful and I loved the entire story! I'm so glad she's going to be at RT in May and I might be able to meet her.
Reapers Girl by Laramie Briscoe.
I loved her Rocking Country series and I was so excited to hear Reaper and Harmony were getting another book. I loved this, but still want more! I'm excited to hear EJ is getting a book and can't wait for that!
The Prince by Jillian Dodd.
I like this series. I like mystery and the intrigue and the relationship with Prince Dorian. I'm hanging out for the next book in the series!
Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas.
This book was intense! There were so many times I thought it wouldn't end well but I'm happy with how things worked out.
Black Swan Affair by K.L Kreig.
This book blew me away! I'm also really happy with how things turned out. I loved the development of the relationship and the drama.
Anatomy of Us by Amelia Lefay.
This was my first mΓ©nage and I loved it. I thought the feelings were really well explained but I HATE that it ended on a cliffhanger. According to goodreads the second book was supposed to be out by now but it's not! I'm waiting with baited breath!
Logan Kade by Tijan.
What more can you say about Logan? I'm glad he got his girl and I can't wait for the next Fallen Crest.
Play Softly by LP Maxa.
Dash and Lexi had a baby! While I think this book was more about Luke, I was happy to read about Halen.
Where we belong by J Daniels.
I love Ben and Mia and loved reading about what has happened to their family since the first Alabama Summer book.
Swag by Cambria Hebert.
Lorhaven wasn't a favourite of mine, but Joey was. It was great to read their story.
Rev by Cambria Hebert
Love Trent and Drew! This was perfect for them.
Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy.
Love Jamie and Wes! Blake was awesome too and can't wait for his book next year, and the wedding of Course!
Moto by M Never.
This book got me out of a funk and helped inspire No Place to Hide. Love a book with hot boys and hot bikes!
I'm going to try to cut back on ARCs next year, and limit them to only books I'm truly interested in rather than ones that just sound good. I plan to have a lot going on next year so I won't have that much time to spare. But thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and my blog throughout the year, it truly means the world to me!
With love,

Swing release boost 3, Ariana Locke
I’d like to screw her and her perfect ass.
There’s no denying the chemistry between them. It’s so fiery, it’s undeniable. They partake in it. Enjoy it.
“This is gorgeous,” I breathe as it comes into full view. “Not what I expected.”
“This is my second favorite place in the world,” he whispers against my ear.
“Second? What could be more perfect that this?”
“Inside you.”
Before he can pull away, I turn my face so my lips capture his. He deepens the kiss, our lips working against one another in perfect harmony. As we pull away, breathless, he grins. “Thank you for coming.”
“I’ll ensure you come later,” I promise.
“Naughty girl,” he chuckles as the car rolls to a stop. “I like it.”

My champion release blitz, alanea alder
Kari Delaney has finally achieved everything she’s ever wanted. The business she created from scratch is booming and she has her dream custom built condo in the heart of the small town where she was raised. But all that changes the day she gets her evacuation notice.
Despite being a vampire, Kari hates Noctem Falls and the politics that permeates every aspect of life within the city. Under protest she and her younger brother leave for the City of the Night.
Declan is smitten with his little general and the strength she exudes. But when it’s just the two of them he begins to break down her carefully constructed walls and show her that even though he’s easy going, he is still an Alpha, and his lion is demanding her heart.
When the entire city erupts into chaos with matings being dissolved and Founding Families making alliances, Declan realizes it will take every trick he learned at his father’s knee to maneuver through the murky political waters. Both he and his mate race against time to keep the people of the city safe, despite homesick children, disastrous dinners, Meryn’s wacky revenge plans and an unexpected pairing.
Chuckling to herself Kari met up with Rex just past the transport tunnel on the way to the Council room. At the door she saw Meryn standing with her hands on her hips, face turned up to the man at the door. Kari looked over at Rex who was now scowling. Rex and Kari walked up behind Meryn. Rex wrapped protective arm around Meryn’s shoulders.
“What seems to be a problem here?” he asked.
The man looked up, eyed Rex quickly. “No one is to be admitted.”
“On whose authority?” Rex demanded.
“The founding families have determined these will be closed-door proceedings.”
The guard never even looked up as he was speaking to Rex.
“Son, do you know who I am?” he asked.
The guard scoffed. “I am a vampire and probably older than you shifter. Watch who you call son.”
Kari heard a distinctive sound and then looked over Rex was grinding his teeth, his jaw muscles clenched. Declan shared the same habit when he was aggravated.
Everything for her release blitz, Alexa Riley
I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it.
This is the book we've been waiting for and it didn't disappoint. The dynamic duo are at their best here with a hot, domineering alpha and his lady love he'd do anything for. Oz has been obsessed with Mallory for five years and now is done waiting. I think they handled his obsession well. It just bordered on this side of creepy stalker, but his motives for doing so shine through, thus negating a lot of the creepy factor. I would've liked to have seen more drama with his dad though. So much revolved around that relationship but I felt like it whimpered out. I assume that drama will come from Paige's book. Overall I enjoyed Everything for Her. It's what we've been waiting for and it didn't disappoint.
I'll never forget the way she looked, so confident and sure of herself. I watched her from a distance. She wasn't ready for me yet. I didn't approach her and I didn't disturb her, but I never once took my eyes off her.
Mallory Sullivan is ready to start her new life. After graduating at the top of her class, she's landed one of the most coveted internships in the United States. Hard work and determination have gotten her to this moment of living the life she only dreamed of while growing up in foster care.
From the start, I knew that she would be my greatest achievement, so the day I let her go, I set down a path for her. A path to me.
She never expected Oz to be the greatest culmination of those dreams. But sometimes fate determines who you fall in love with. Who makes you lose control. Who owns your soul.
And then you realize it wasn't fate at all…
I've wanted to care for and protect her since the first moment I saw her. I've constructed everything in our lives so that at the perfect moment, I could have her, could give her the life she deserves.
The time has come.
Miles
I’ve watched her since the beginning.
It’s funny, but I don’t really remember much before her. It’s as if I could split my life into two halves. Before her and after. I remember my life with my parents, and I remember getting into college, but it’s all gray before her. Until the day I saw her, there was no color. But once my eyes landed on her for the first time, it was like when Dorothy landed in Oz and she opened the door. The world went Technicolor, and she was my very own Glinda the Good Witch.
I was twenty-two years old the first time I saw her. She was seventeen and competing in a state-level high school math competition.
Yale University asked me to represent them as a student judge, and I nearly declined. The state of Connecticut is small but houses one of the greatest Ivy League colleges in the country. One that makes becoming a standout almost impossible. I was among the top one percent in my class as a senior at Yale, with a major in statistics.
The only reason I’d accepted the invitation was to play a part. Many expected me to follow in the footsteps of my father, and I wanted them to believe that, but my end goal was a little different than anyone knew. I was on the path of revenge, but playing a part would help me on that path. Rubbing shoulders with the same men my father did, even if it left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Agreeing to judge the competition was life-changing. The bitter taste in my mouth altered that day. A sweetness took over. I wanted it. Needed it.
I’ll never forget the way she looked, so confident and sure of herself. I watched her from a distance, like you would a lioness in the wild. I didn’t approach her and I didn’t disturb her, but I never once took my eyes off her.
I found out later she was being sponsored by her high school so that she could attend the competition. She had no family and was being raised in a group foster home, so her school funded the trip. She was smart, and they wanted to see her succeed, which she did.
I saw so much in her as she competed. She knew all the answers and was absolutely sure each time. She trusted her instincts, and they didn’t let her down. There was so much potential in her just waiting to be unleashed. I wanted to sit down and have her tell me everything, anything, as long as she talked to me.
She swept the competition and won first place in her division. I was strangely proud of her.
When she walked out of the hotel ballroom after the competition was over, I let her go. It was the hardest thing I’d ever had to do. But I knew that if I went after her too soon, or too fast, she would run. Not only was she too young for me, but something about her told me she was the kind of woman who came along once in ten thousand lifetimes.
This wasn’t to be rushed. It was to be savored.
I may hate my father, but I’ve learned from his mistakes. I’m going to use those mistakes for my own advantage. He’s smart but sloppy at the same time and it’s been showing. But I know if you want something, you work hard for it, plan out all the details to make it yours.
From the beginning, I knew that she would be my greatest achievement, so the day I let her go, I set down a path for her.
A path to me.
No one knows it’s been me behind the curtain, pulling the strings. I’ve constructed everything in our lives so that at the perfect moment, I could have her.
The time has come.
