“Please, Bren,” Jordan whispered.

I sagged, hearing his plea. If I didn’t stop, he’d start. I had to stop. I had to stop for him. “We have to go. It’s done.” That was Cross, but he was the leader speaking now. “Get her in the truck.” Jordan carried me over. Zellman hopped up and Jordan lifted me to him. I could’ve climbed up myself, but there was something about my crew doing this for me. Handling me. They needed to do this, and a part of me needed to let them. I glanced back as Jordan was climbing up, coming behind us. Cross was bent over the guy. He was talking to him. A second later, he pulled his phone out, punching some numbers. Then the phone was back in his pocket, and he was coming for the truck. His eyes held mine for a brief moment before he got behind the wheel. I loved the conclusion to the Crew spin-off. I love the tight knit characters, the new and the old. I love the sense of family and the closeness, the protectiveness.

There’s an openness about this book which is much appreciated. Previously I’ve felt it’s been a little emotional stunted, but here there is a growth that is most definitely welcome.

The story has come full circle with this book, and it’s SO satisfying! 📖📖📖📖📔

Where dreams descend review, janella Angeles

I was so looking forward to reading this book and was so happy when I was able to get an ARC, but this book fell so flat for me.

First off, the way it started was so confusing. You have no context, no idea what is going on or how it relates to anything. This theme continues throughout the books. You are given no idea how anything works or how it is connected to anything or what it means. You need context! You need the history of the town, you need I formation about why Demarco is in Gloria. You literally don’t get this until 88% of the book and it’s a hard slog without it. 

This book had so much promise but delivered on absolutely none of it. 📖📖📖

Wicked Princess review and release blitz, Ashley Jade

I have to admit amnesia books aren’t really my thing, but I was intrigued to read Bianca’s story.

I think it was handled well, even if things didn’t make sense, like how could she go to school if she didn’t remember anything she’d learned?

This book was also super fast, like lightening fast. Everything happens at a break neck speed to the point it feels rushed. I wish more time could’ve been spent fleshing everything out.

Also, Bianca’s guy didn’t sit right with me. He feels possessive, overly so and not in a good way, and is quick to anger and revert back to her old self. I don’t get their first kiss at all.

I liked the previous books in this series but this one fell a tiny bit flat for me, sorry!

“Nicco!” Arianne clambered off the bed and rushed to my side.

“Wait.” I held up my other hand to stop her. A dark angry storm was raging through me. I wanted to hit something, to hurt and bleed.

I needed it.

Dark rivulets of blood seeped over my hand, but I barely felt it. I was too wired. Too hungry for the kill. 

“Let me take a look at it.” Arianne stepped forward and I jerked back, like a caged animal being riled.

“Nicco, it’s me. It’s only me.” She had me cornered with no way out. My body trembled violently as I desperately tried to hold on to my frayed rope of control.  

“Nicco...” Arianne brushed the hair from my face. My head hung low, my shoulders hunched and tight. I wanted to kill him. I wanted to hunt him down and kill him with my bare hands. 

“Come back to me.” She gently lifted my busted hand and inspected the damage. “It needs cleaning. Let me see what there is.” Arianne left me and went into the bathroom. When she came back, she had a small first aid kit. “I found it in the cabinet. Sit.” Her gaze went to the bed, but I remained rigid. 

“I need to stand.”

“Okay. Hold still.” She worked in silence, cleaning me up and bandaging my hand. My pulse began to slow, the tightness in my chest easing.

It was her.

Her touch, her calmness. 

“I’m sorry,” I choked out.  

Arianne took my face in her hands and looked right at me. God, I wanted to drown in the dark pools of honey. “Talk to me.”

“I want to kill him... I should have killed him.”

“So why didn’t you?”

It was the last thing I expected her to say, but I knew this wasn’t about her, it was about me.

“It’s not that simple,” I released a heavy sigh. “If I’d have killed him... it would start something we might not be able to finish. I can’t do that to the Family, to you.”

She nodded, dropping one of her hands to mine and lacing them together. “I hate Scott for what he did to me. I hate him so much that sometimes I wish you had done it.” Arianne took a shuddering breath. “But I want a life with you. I want a future. I can’t have that if you’re behind bars... or worse.”

“If he hurts you again, I can’t promise I won’t do it.”

Something flashed in her eyes, but before I could decipher it, Arianne kissed me. “I don’t want to talk any more, Nicco. I want you to love me. I want you to make me forget about the monsters.”
