Mirage review, Somiya Daud

This was a solid book. I liked the premise and I really liked how the story developed. Maram was a surprise to me, but a good one. Idris was a nice counterpoint as was Tala.
One thing that did bug me was the use of technology in this world. You assume it is a Morocco-esque book but then there's all this technology that pulls you out of the world. I don't think it fits and needs to decide if it is sci-fi or fantasy. I do t think the two quite mix.

But the story is solid and I will probably continue with this series. 📖📖📖📔

Crew review, Tijan

Holy. Woah! I loved this book! That wasn’t a surprise, but this book... I truly think this is some of Tijan’s best.
Bren is incredible. She’s strong, and brave, and vulnerable. She could be anyone.
Cross is too sweet. I didn’t think anyone could top Mason Kade, but damn he comes close.
I’m not sure if I knew this was a Fallen Crest spin off, but I loved that it was. I loved getting to see the other side of the coin. Crew is different than Fallen Crest. This crew is unapologetic for who they are, and they pull all the punches they need to. It’s straight up and convoluted and it’s great. You know where you stand.
I also loved the first sex scene. I don’t remember Tijan writing a more explicit one, and I loved it.

I truly believe this is some of her best writing, I tabbed the heck out it and have more highlights than I can count. You need this book in your life, you need this crew in your life!

Boy Toy review and release details, Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

I loved this book! It’s probably my favourite of the series. It’s so nice to read something light, and actually funny which doesn’t depend on gimmicks.
Liam is just... wow! Fourteen-year-old Liam is pretty awesome too.
I love Sadie. I think she’s every single Mum out there, hell, she’s every woman period.
Kate and Amy are terrific and such a light point in this book.
The rest of the supporting characters are fantastic as well.

Seriously, this is a light, hilarious book which needs to be read! 📖📖📖📖📖

Excerpt:

I messed up. Big time.
These are my thoughts as I rush into the bathroom for the worlds fastest shower. The hot spray of water judges me as I hastily wash Liam off my thighs.
A better mother wouldnt let this happen. I shouldnt have a younger lover. If I didnt, he wouldnt be so deliciously appealing. I couldnt lose my mind, wake him up out of a sound sleep to ride him like a pony. And then collapse beside him in peaceful, sated slumber.
Seriously, how did I let that happen?
You know how, my hormones scold me. Because hes the hottest thing youve ever tasted.
Oh yeah. That.
After showering I get dressed at top speed. Poor Liam is currently shouldering all my parental responsibilities. Throwing on yesterdays sundress, I pause for a moment to pop a birth control pill, because that’s one thing I won’t goof up.
Then I hurry downstairs.
The sight in the kitchen gives me heart palpitations. But not because theres flour dusting much of the countertop. Rather, its the hot, shirtless guy holding my toddler and making a dump truck sound as Amy tips the measuring spoon over a bowl.
Yes! Well done, little miss, he says, relieving her of the spoon. Batter up! he says, easing her to the floor and catching Kate, whos trying to climb him like a tree.
Arent we all.
Liam easily rests Kate on one of his perfect arms, measures a half teaspoon of baking powder one-handed and then hands the spoon to Kate. Beep beep beep, he says, making the sound of a truck backing up. Look out below!
Kate dumps the spoonful into the bowl and giggles.
Awesome. Who wants to add the milk?
My do it! Amy yells.
Boy, I need another minute of alone time to compose myself. Because I love this picture a little too much. I love Liams ease with my girls. I love how calm he is at the center of toddler-induced mayhem.
It causes a little pain in my heart as I allow myself one more comparison to my former lifeThe truth is I never once saw Decker elbows-deep in kitchen chaos with a kid on one arm. Starting breakfast with twins in tow? He was more likely to captain a NASA expedition to Mars than he was to do this simple Saturday morning thing.
I feel like crying for no reason at all. Clearly Im on some kind of emotional overload. Maybe coffee will help.
Sliding into the kitchen, I go right for the coffee grounds.
Mama! Amy says. Wiam making pancakes.
That is amazing, I say in a wobbly voice. What a lucky girl you are.
Sorry about the mess, he says, casting a glance in my direction. And I know he doesnt just mean the flour on the counter, but the bigger mess of waking up naked in my bed.
You know, I say with a small sigh. Messes shouldnt scare me so much. Its going to be fine.
Liams smile is so filled with relief, that I now feel like an ogre. This man wants to make pancakes with us on Saturday morning, and I said no to that before? Im clearly insane.
Which frying pan should I use? he asks, casting an eye on the cookware hanging from the rack over the sink.
Oh, no. You want this. I pull a double-burner griddle out of a lower cabinet.
Oooh, he says. Mommy has the fancy pancake griddle.
Kate giggles. Shes gazing at Liam as if he invented fun.
And in my life, I guess he did.
Heres the tricky thing about being a shrink—sometimes you notice that you’re doing something that’s exactly contrary to the advice you’d give your patients.
Im having one of those moments right now.
If I had a single mom in my office telling me there was a lovely guy in her life who was kind to her kidsand yet she was giving him the stiff arm? Itell her: Be kind to yourself. Dont push away the good people in your life, especially if you think you dont deserve them. Let people surprise you.
Im such a hypocrite.
Also, I need caffeine.
Ten minutes later Im sipping from a mug of coffee, but Liams is cooling on the countertop. The man has his hands full right now as he puts pancakes on the griddle with help from my daughters.
How about a few of these? he asks, holding up a bag of chocolate chips. Meanwhile, Kate waves the spatula around like a ninja. A guy needs to make smiley faces in his pancakes sometimes.
Good. Lord. Its a miracle Im not just a puddle of my former self right now. This is some serious mommy porn Im watching. Shirtless guy feeds toddlers before eight a.m. I walk over to the high cabinet where I keep the ramekinsWe could make smiley faces with dried organic currants, I say, just to be a pain in the ass.
Liam makes a face of disgust as I take the chocolate chipsfrom his hand and pour some into a ramekin. Joking! Here.
He gives me a big, hot smile. Okay, it probably wasnt meant to be hot, but I feel flutters down below.
Choc-it! Kate yells, grabbing for the ramekin.
Easy, Liam says with a laugh. Thats for my artwork. Come here and Ill show you.
I set the table and pour the sippy cups of milk. And Liam manages to serve up two smiley pancakesone for each girlat exactly the same moment, in exactly the same size. This is a man who knows his way around toddlers.
Not cut it! Amy yells when I approach her plate with a knife. She picks up the pancake in two hands and takes a bite right out of the side of its face.
Okay, right. I back away. Forks are optional today, then. No big deal.
Liam takes advantage of this moment of quiet to quickly pour six more pancakes onto the griddle. He leans over his work, dotting them with chocolate chips.
I step closer to him and put a hand on his lower back. Thank you, I whisper.
For trashing your kitchen?
No. He glances at me and I give him a shy smile. For being so amazing all the time.
His eyes get very warm, and I just want to stay right here in that blue-eyed gaze as long as I can. This might be a good time to confess that I didnt make smiley faces on my own pancakes.
No? I look down at the griddle. Side by side, two of them have a different designlittle bullseyes in their centers. Those are…?
Boobs, he whispers. My inner fourteen-year-old has a dirty mind. He cant shut it off sometimes.
Drink your coffee, I whisper, handing him the mug. Sit down. Let me finish these for you. Or go put on a shirt because my inner fourteen-year-old has her tongue hanging out all the time, too.
He gives me a wicked, wicked smile and then runs upstairs to find his shirt.

Kiss my Ash review and release blitz

I quite enjoyed this book. It had way more feels than I thought it would, but it was a thought provoking, complex story.
Ash is so unbelievably cute. I love the man he is.
Kristy is a strong, kick arse female, the type you want to grow up to be.
The secondary cast were strong, if a little hard to get a read on at times.

Still, this is a solid book, full of feels. Worth your time! 📖📖📖📖

Title: Kiss My Ash
Author: Leddy Harper
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: August 9, 2018

Blurb

Ash Jenkins was the typical boy next door. Wait, who am I kidding? There was nothing typical about that boy.

He was tall, ripped, and had the voice of a man twice his age. Intelligent, sexy as sin, and barely legal.

Sent to live with his dad after getting in some trouble with the law, he was definitely someone I needed to stay away from.

But he had his sights set on me, and he didn’t try to hide it.

Did it still make me a cougar if I was the prey?

Author Bio

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

the good luck charm review, Helena Hunting

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I’ve felt in the past that Helena has used too much humour in her books, sometimes shelving the story for funnies. This isn’t the case here. The balance she has achieved is pretty awesome.
The story here is more complex and dramatic than anything I’ve read from her before and I love it.
Ethan is so cute, as well as a little annoying, like a Naughty pet you can’t help but love.
Lilah is strong, but also frustrating when it comes to Ethan.

Again, this book has more drama than I was expecting but I thought it was great, and I think you will too! 📖📖📖📖📔

The Chase review and release, Elle Kennedy

Holy. Wow! I LOVED this book!!!!!! I love this series, I love this world, I love these guys, I love these girls.
First off, I loved getting back to Briar U. I loved getting a glimpse of our earlier favourites.
I loved the comedy here, I loved the drama, I loved the hockey.
I love Summer. She’s great, a little all over the place but I still loved that. She’s funny, she’s sweet, she’s sassy, she’s definitely not fluff.
Fitzy is so cute. He’s sweet, and caring, and hot, and smart. I love the conclusions he comes to.
And as with Off Campus, the supporting cast is amazing. I can’t wait for Breanna’s story, and that teaser was just mean!
And Hunter, my heart hurts from him.
Hollis is great too and will no doubt be a stellar addition to the cast.

Once again, this book was incredible, I loved everything about it and I don’t even know why you’re still reading this and not reading this book! 📖📖📖📖📖📖

THE CHASE
(Briar U, Book 1)

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against himIt doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.
And that his best friend has a crush on me.
And that I just moved in with them.
Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?
I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to startI’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and anuncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?
He knows where to find me.
