Off limits review and release blitz, L.A. Cotton

Holy. Wow!! This book was... incredible!

There’s a whole heap of angst here, but it’s SO good!!

Kaiden is just... dreamy. And tortured. And troubled. But good. He’s so good.

And lily is someone you want to protect and hold and make sure she’s okay.

Together, they’re incredible.

And I love the supporting cast. That epilogue...wow! I need the next book ASAP!

Run, don’t walk, to grab yourselves a copy!📖📖📖📖📖

Namesake (Fable #2) review, Adrienne Young

I really enjoyed this book, WAY more than I liked fable!

There’s a richness to this story, a depth, more action, more romance, more everything that makes this the better half of this duo in my opinion.

Fable is a great female character. She’s strong, but also soft in the parts she needs to be.

West is just... be still my heart! He is strong, protective, loving. He’s perfect.

I love the other cast members in this book too, even if they have much smaller parts than fable.

One thing I would definitely recommend is that you read this immediately after fable. Don’t wing it and think you’ll be okay like I did. Perhaps you have a better memory than me, which wouldn’t be hard, but I struggled at times because I couldn’t remember details.

For me, fable was hit or miss, but this is incredible! Definitely worth chugging through the first book for! 📖📖📖📖

False start review, Casey Hagen

Heres my review for False Start! Scroll down for links!

This was an interesting book.

I’d never read one about roller derby, but like everyone, went through a phase when whip it came out!

I loved the cast of characters here, Lana especially. There’s a ton of sass in this book.

Maisy is ballsy and strong.

Cain was a bit of a wet blanket for me, but tortured heroes can be like that.

Where I did think things fell down is that it’s never explained why derby was so big in this particular town.

The team and their names were never explained, and derby names and real names are interchanged and it’s hard to follow. It needed to be picked and stayed with.

I also didn’t get the sudden change of feelings from Cain. It just happened because, not for any one reason I could see. I wanted a definite turning point.

Still, this was an interesting book, give it a try. 📖📖📖📖

Down comes the night review

This book had so much promise for me, but it fell flat.

I liked wren. She’s a solid character. But Una annoyed me and I never connected with her. Though a small part, Bryer was much better for me.

Hal is incredible and I liked his and Wren’s chemistry.

As for the story? It was lacking for me.

I needed background about the 3 countries and their quarrels. I needed to know why Danu and Vesria were at war. I needed more background.

Where I needed less background was the medical stuff. It’s obvious the author has a medical background, but at times it got too much.

To that end, the part with Wren’s skills at the end came out of nowhere for me. I wished that could’ve been built upon more in the story.

I also felt it was a bit predictable.

While this book had promise for me, it fell flat. Sorry!
