I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this book and chose to review it.
This was the first Heaven's Hill book I read and I really liked the feel of it. The sense of family you get is very strong and something I'm naturally drawn to. I liked aren't and Tatum's story, although I do think reading their novella is an absolute must. I tried to read Hurricane before it but things made much more sense afterwards. The one drawback for me with this book was the writing, as much as it pains me to say. I know it's still going through edits but I felt it was terribly unpolished and it felt rushed to me. I love Laramie's stories and writing style, so this was a big shock, but to me at times it was a bit off putting. There was a lot of repetition and some of the dialogue was awkward. Sorry!📖📖📖
