tragic lies review and release blitz, LA Cotton

 This was a solid book. 

I’ve been waiting for it since the end of the previous one, and I was only slightly disappointed.

I loved Xander and Peyton’s story. It was a beautiful story of two damaged people finding each other and overcoming their pain.

But I don’t know if I missed something, but Xander’s behaviour never made sense to me. I get he had a rough childhood, but I never understood where he went off the rails.

Another thing that bothered me was how the original raiders treated him. They said some truly horrible things to him, as did Peyton’s friends to her.

I guess it goes to show how people don’t understand grief and how they react to it, but it was a little infuriating to read some of those things.

Still, the beauty of this book overwhelms that. I love that this book is raw and unflinching.

There are massive triggers here for suicide and self harm, so please be aware!

I do think it’s worth giving a go though.
