This was a solid book.
I did feel the pacing was a little off, with things starting off super fast, slowing down in the middle, racing towards the end, then the end just kind of stopped dead.
I also felt Achilles was perhaps a *tad* too aggressive and possessive for my taste. It was romantic to a point, slightly too bossy and demanding.
I like the core group of guys, Major especially and can see how the rest of the series will play out. But I felt the side characters that came in half, to two-thirds of the way in got so complicated and confusing. I have no idea who belongs to whom and how they fit. It didn’t entirely feel necessary to the story either.
But I liked the story and how different it was for ahren. I would’ve liked to have seen more going on with the police force, but I think that will come in in future books.
Still, a solid book but not my favourite. 📖📖📖📔
